The Federal Republic of Nigeria’s First Lady’s Office Has Long Supported the Government in Attaining Its Goals and Objectives, Particularly Through Initiatives That Focuses on Women and Youths

These interventions span from the era of her excellency Late Dr. Mrs. Maryam Babangida (1985–1993) with the better life for rural dwellers, her excellency Mrs. Maryam Abacha (1993–1998) the family support program, and her excellency justice Fati Lami Abubakar (1998–1999), who oversaw a program to advance and protect women’s rights, not leaving out her excellency late Mrs. Stella Obasanjo (1999–2005) who also had a program to provide child care trusts.

Other first ladies, including her excellency Hajia Turai Yar’ardua (2007-2010) also had the women’s and youth empowerment foundation. Her Excellency Dame Patience Jonathan (2010-2015) had the Areuera Reach Out Foundation, and her Excellency Aisha Buhari (2015-2023), the Future Assured Foundation, respectively.

These various initiatives taken on by the first ladies significantly impacted the lives of women and children in Nigeria.

Having a history of notable charity activities, such as the New Era Foundation, work experience program, widows empowerment program, patience home for childless widows, and many others, to name a few. Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON, the first lady of the federal republic of Nigeria, brings to the table a wealth of experience and a proven track record of service, spanning back to her tenure as the first lady of Lagos State (1999-2006) and continuing through her election to the Nigerian Senate in 2011 until 2023. She has birthed the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), a non-profit, non-governmental initiative with a mission and a vision.

This is a grass-roots-enabled initiative that works from top to bottom, from the 6 geo-political zones to the 36 states of the federation to the 774 local government areas in Nigeria, all the way down to the ordinary woman on the street.

As the slogan goes, “renewed hope initiative, towards a better life for families.”
