Towards a better life for families: lifting individuals out of poverty, educating them and guiding them toward brighter futures.
Our Objective
Target the six geopolitical zones, focusing on the areas of need that are peculiar to each zone.
Our Approach
Grassroots-enabled, working from the 6 zones to the 36 states to the 774 local government areas, down to the ordinary woman on the street.
Our Heritage
Building on a Legacy of Service
The Office of the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has long supported the government in attaining its goals, particularly through initiatives focused on women and youths.
From the Better Life for Rural Dwellers of Late Dr. Mrs. Maryam Babangida (1985-1993), the Family Support Programme of Mrs. Maryam Abacha (1993-1998), and the women’s rights advocacy of Justice Fati Lami Abubakar (1998-1999), to the Child Care Trust of Late Mrs. Stella Obasanjo (1999-2005), the Women and Youth Empowerment Foundation of Hajia Turai Yar’Adua (2007-2010), the Areuera Reach Out Foundation of Dame Patience Jonathan (2010-2015) and the Future Assured Foundation of Mrs. Aisha Buhari (2015-2023).
Each of these initiatives significantly impacted the lives of women and children in Nigeria. The Renewed Hope Initiative proudly continues that tradition of service.

A Proven Track Record of Service
Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, brings a wealth of experience spanning her tenure as First Lady of Lagos State (1999-2006) and her service in the Nigerian Senate from 2011 to 2023.
Her history of charity work includes the New Era Foundation, the work experience programme, the widows empowerment programme and the Patience Home for Childless Widows, among many others. From this foundation she birthed the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), a non-profit, non-governmental initiative with a clear mission and vision.
