Our diversity should help us grow, not destroy us” – First Lady Oluremi Tinubu

The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, paid a condolence visit to Benue State following the recent killings in Yelwata and Dauda communities.

Decrying the attacks as “heart-wrenching and unnecessary,” she urged:
“As a mother, I call on you to bury grievances and return to peaceful coexistence. When there are disagreements, dialogue and patience remain the best solutions, not violence. The way of peace is the way of love, and love conquers all things.”

She emphasized that peaceful coexistence is vital for Benue’s growth and contribution to Nigeria’s food security,
“Benue, as the nation’s food basket, has so much to offer our country’s prosperity.”

On behalf of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), the First Lady presented ₦1 Billion to Gov. Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia to support victims and help restore livelihoods.

Gov. Alia commended her compassion and reiterated the urgent need for state and community policing. The Tor Tiv, Prof. James Ayatse, called for swift action against killer herders to restore safety and food production.

“The way of peace is the way of love, and love conquers all,” the First Lady reaffirmed.
